OCR Setup Guide

Enable Optical Character Recognition to read item data directly from your screen. Useful for checking items in special UI elements or from screenshots.

What is OCR?

OCR (Optical Character Recognition) is a feature that reads text directly from your screen. While normal price checking uses clipboard data (Ctrl+C), OCR can read items that don't copy to the clipboard, like items visible in some special UI elements or streamer screenshots.

OCR Setup Steps

1

Download OCR Files

Download the OCR files archive (~6MB) from the official release:

Download cv-ocr.zip
2

Open Configuration Folder

Open the folder where Awakened PoE Trade stores its configuration. You can find this in the Settings → Debug tab, or navigate to:

Windows: %appdata%\awakened-poe-trade\apt-data\
3

Extract OCR Files

Extract the cv-ocr folder from the zip archive into your apt-data folder. Your folder structure should look like this:

apt-data/
├── config.json
└── cv-ocr/
├── eng.traineddata
├── ... more files ...
└── tesseract-core-simd.wasm
4

Restart the Application

Close Awakened PoE Trade completely (right-click the tray icon and select Quit), then launch it again. OCR should now be available.

Configure the OCR Widget

After setup, you need to configure the OCR widget:

  1. Open the overlay by pressing Shift + Space
  2. Click near the Settings button to add a new widget
  3. Select the OCR widget (you can place it at the bottom of your screen)
  4. Click on the widget and assign a hotkey in the edit menu

Tips for Accurate OCR

Before pressing the OCR hotkey, make sure:

  1. Both item icons are fully visible - The item icon and any socket icons should not be cut off.
  2. Text is not obscured - Health bars, skill effects, or other UI elements should not cover the item text.
  3. Good contrast - Dark backgrounds work best for reading the light-colored item text.
